Dear Larry, Hope this finds you doing well. I'm sure it's been an interesting time over there as you witnessed the election process. Thanks for the info...enjoyed following it. There have been tiny blips in the news here and even an editorial on NPR last week. Taylor seems to be doing o.k. in Darhan Village as we all anxiously await Spring! Take care. Sandy Willis
Actually, I found the picture to be charming. Surreal, dreamlike and a bit hazy, but charming. I had a chance to peek around your blog, and it's great. I passed through KG years ago, and would love to come back, as I publish music from Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Hello, Larry. I find the dolls to be looking very normal. They remind me of my childhood dolls because I'm from Kyrgyzstan. Soviet era dolls look nothing like Barbies. They look like little chubby girls. I wish my Mom saved them so that I could have them now. Have fun in Kyrgyzstan.
Well. we see what we want to see. or we see is what (or who) we are. so, i'm not surprised you find those dolls scary. your comment tells me more about you than about the doll.
