Cold War Remnants (this is one of the first things you see when you enter the school in Ivanovka, Kyrygyzstan.) Note: the mushroom cloud in the lower left corner.
Neat. I served in Uzbekistan, and one day my students asked me for help with their homework. They had to come up with a tactical plan for how to storm a school with terrorists holding hostages. I'm not even kidding. The classroom they took this class in had wooden rifles, posters of how to use them, etc.
I told them the correct answer is to shut off the power to the building and play Metallica as loudly as possible.
They didn't believe me, unfortunately.
